School Entrance Tests’ aim is to explain firstly, how A-level grades may switch to a numerical system in a reset of exams after the grade inflation of the pandemic.Secondly A-Level grade boundaries for EdExcel A-Levels and for AQA A-Levels.
The A-Level pass grades are A*, A, B, C, D and E. If you fail your exam, you get a U (meaning ungraded).

When is A-Level Results Day 2022?
Grade inflation is being addressed in the 2022 GCSE graade boundaries. 45% of 2021 A-levels were either A* or A. This is much higher than 2019’s top A-Level grades (26%).
Hence, according to the Head of Ofqual, firstly every single school should expect to see its GCSE and A-level grades fall this summer compared to 2021 GCSEs and 2021 A-Levels. Secondly, 2022 A-Level grade boundaries will be set to reflect 2019 and 2021’s midpoint. The intention being to reverse the earlier years’ A-Level grade inflation.

The above documents show the 2022 A-Level grade boundaries and 2021 A-Level grade boundaries.
These are both for Pearson EdExcel’s International AS and A level qualifications. Also shown are the maximum number of available A-Level 2022 marks and individual A-Level 2022 units.
Assume a B A-Level grade boundary is 60 marks; 60 is the minimum mark at which a B can be achieved. A mark of 59 would therefore be a C grade.
Raw mark grade boundaries may change from exam session to exam session to take into account variations in the difficulty of assessments.
A Certifying Statement of Provisional Results (results slip) will always show the UMS mark for modular qualifications.
